Reviving Homes, Renewing Communities

The Back on the Block Story
Paul Falcone (Founder & President)
Back on the Block was founded by Long Island native Paul Falcone, who came to Jacksonville, NC in 2004 while serving in the United States Marine Corps. After proudly serving until 2011, with multiple deployments to Iraq, Paul retired out of the WWBn-E and chose to make Eastern North Carolina his home.
Today, he’s committed to giving back by revitalizing homes, uplifting neighborhoods, and creating spaces where families can build lasting memories.
The mission is simple: transform distressed properties into beautiful, functional homes that families (and neighborhoods) can be proud of.
"Every project we take on is about more than construction—it’s about creating opportunity, restoring value, and strengthening the communities we live in & serve. By breathing new life into neglected houses, we help homeowners, buyers, and neighborhoods alike thrive."

Beware of Scams: Protecting Homeowners
Understanding “We Buy Houses Cash” and Wholesaler Scams
Back on the Block, LLC. is not a wholesaler. We work in compliance with the
NC Real Estate laws and statutes and believe that Real Estate Brokers are worth every penny and should not be cut out of the transaction.

If you’ve contacted by someone saying "Let me buy your house cash and fix all your problems in one week" or if you've been mailed post cards saying “We Buy Houses for Cash,” you might be curious or cautious. The truth is — what they are saying may be true, or it may not (and most times when you find out, it's too late) . While some companies are legitimate, there are many companies in the real estate world that target homeowners who are already under stress. Two of the most common are “We Buy Houses Cash” scams and Wholesaler scams.

“We Buy Houses Cash” Scams
These scams often start with big promises — fast closings, top-dollar offers, no hassle. But behind the scenes, the reality can look very different. Some companies make an inflated offer to win your trust, then lower the price at the last minute. Others add hidden fees that take away from your payout, or use high-pressure tactics to push you into signing contracts before you’ve had time to review. Instead of providing relief, these “cash buyers” leave sellers feeling cheated and stuck.

Wholesaler Scams
Wholesalers work differently. Instead of buying your home themselves, they put your property under contract and then try to sell that contract to another buyer. The problem? Many homeowners don’t even realize they’re dealing with a wholesaler. If that wholesaler can’t find a buyer, they back out, wasting your time and leaving you with fewer options. Worse, wholesalers often aren’t upfront about their role, creating confusion and mistrust.
Why Back on the Block is Different
At Back on the Block, LLC., we’re not wholesalers — we are direct buyers. That means when you sell to us, you cut out the middlemen. There are no wholesaler markups, no extra agent fees, and no hidden costs eating into your bottom line. More of the money from your sale goes directly into your pocket.
We buy homes in any condition and follow through on our word. Our offers are fair, transparent, and designed to give distressed property owners a fresh start.
Because we live and work here too, we’re committed to improving neighborhoods while helping homeowners move forward with confidence.
